Altenew - A Year In Review

WOW!  Can you believe that 2019 is almost over.
You should have landed here from the blog of Zinia Redo, if not please go back and see the fabulous inspiration she has to offer.

It's been a very busy and memorable year for me with having 2 scheduled eye surgeries, plus an unexpected move about 6 months ago.
The month of October was special for me because I was asked to film a series for the Altenew Academy, 'Modern Holiday Cardmaking'.  I must admit this was a little out of my comfort zone, but I enjoyed the process and was able to feature processes and designs that I love.

The first card I want to share, features the Build-A-Flower Camellia with the sentiment coming from the Build-A-Flower Anemone set.  I used the large flower for the focal point and then used it to make a subtle background print.  I love to use black in my projects so once again that makes the images 'pop'.

This second card is another favorite that features a monochromatic scheme.  This tone-on-tone uses the following Dies:
Watercolor Stripes Cover Die
Leaf Canopy Die
Miss You Word Die

I stamped the floral images with Morning Frost, Evening Gray and Lava Rock Altenew Crisp Inks.
Can't forget those fabulous aqua enamel dots from Altenew.

The image for this bright card is from the Wallpaper Art stamp set.
Using my Altenew Artist Markers to color the image I selected those reds and warm yellow tones.
Once again I wanted to incorporate black in the card, so I mounted the image to a black card base and also chose a simple sentiment stamped in black.

This last card was featured in my Modern Holiday Cardmaking video series for Altenew.  I used black as my focus in my projects and this card received so many positive comments.
The stamp is Modern Poinsettia from Altenew and I used the Altenew Watercolor Brush Markers to color the fabulous blue-gray image.  The flower was mounted on a black base covered with the Altenew Circle Quilt Cover Die.
This basic design could be used for almost any large floral image and you could used so many colors for the focal image.
