AECP- Color Your Day

Today I want to share a post that was Inspired by Color.
Looking at color I always reflect back to the three primary colors of
Red, Yellow and Blue.

Having a color wheel for reference is a must for me.  It's a quick reference for color ideas and making a plan.  So it should come as no surprise that I have chosen The Color Wheel and Primary Colors as my inspiration.

I knew that I want to keep my card simple, but I also wanted to feature the three colors.
I started by stamping the images from Altenew Painted Butterflies
Stamping the butterflies using Altenew Rouge, Crimson, Citrus, Maple, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue
I have a fabulous 6 X 6 paper pad from Ken Oliver that looks just like you made the background using Colorburst.  I decided that it would be the perfect backdrop, but first I needed to cut a panel using Altenew Layered Plaid Cover Die A.

I layered the butterflies using pop-dots, added a little Clear Wink of Stella and a pretty black gem.
The sentiment is also from the Painted Butterflies set.

Once again, Thanks for visiting my blog.

Blessings,

Nancy

Out of the Box Copic Coloring

I want to share a couple of cards from a recent Copic class I taught at
Scrapmania in Cedar Rapids
The images were printed on Watercolor paper so that I could get a blending effect resembling the succulents.  Also, using unexpected marker colors help to achieve the effect that I wanted.

Art Gone Wild - Succulents Bracket Frame AGC3-2829

The Copic Markers used on these cards were:
BV23-BV21-Y04-YG91-BG000-BG11-G20-G40

I hope these will encourage you to step out of the box and use Copic Markers that you normally would'nt think of putting together.

Hope you have a Great Day!!
I'm off to teach a class.

Fun Stuff

Today I want to share a fun new product by Ken Oliver, or at least to me.
Color Burst is like magic in a little bottle.
There are currently 6 colors but I have heard there may be a few more added later this month.

This micro-fine concentrated powder reacts with water. Apply it with a wet brush, sprinkle it directly on a wet surface, or dissolve it in water to make a mist. Dry it quickly with a heat if you want.

Here is the first card I made using a stencil and white embossing powder resist.
With this card I sprinkled the powder on the surface and then sprayed it with water. I didn't want the entire background covered for this effect.

Now on this second card I used another resist method but used a large background stamp.  I totally wet the surface of the card and then sprinkled the Color Burst powder on top.  I moved the water around with a brush and also just tilted the paper to get the color to move around.

This stuff is addicting and so much fun.

Ken Oliver is actually coming to our local scrapbook store here in Cedar Rapids to teach several classes.  Needless to say, I will be there next Friday night.
Prepare to have inky fingers and let the magic begin.

Thanks for stopping by today and have a fabulous weekend.
