Copic Exploration

The past couple of weeks I've been on a journey of trying new techniques, papers and most of all COLORS.

I have gradually added more depth of color along with shadows on my images.  I also have been working with a few different papers.  Wanting to see if by some chance I could like Neenah paper, well that's a negative.  Working with Copic Xpress It paper for all the years I've been coloring, I just can't get the feel of Neenah.  (sorry Neenah fans)

Well today's card was just for fun and testing colors and paper.  I think my grandson will like it no matter what.

I don't get the blend of color with this paper that I usually can achieve, so it's back to Copic Xpress It for me.

Happy Sunday

Lazy day here in Iowa with the cold rainy weather again today.  After our standard Starbucks run after church this morning I've been able to spend most of my day in my craft room.

Needing to catch up a little on Bible Journaling, I colored a few pages with pencils and did a little studying. I will share a few pages a little later in the week.

I played with a little stamp set from jillibean and created this shaker card.

This set has the pre-made shaker shape which is nice but it does stand off the card base which will make it harder to mail.  After making it, I have a few more ideas of how to make this work a little differently, so you will probably see this again.

I stamped a few lemons on the card base then stamped and colored more lemons, cutting them out to include as shaker bits.  Adding a few sequins and glitter to finish it off.

New Lala Land Molli

So I finally had some time to color my new Molli stamps from Lala Land.

When I saw the images I knew I needed them all.  This is At The Beach Molli and I think she is so cute with her little umbrella drink.  I see some fun paper piecing in my future for her clothing or it will also be a great opportunity to practice pattern coloring with my Copics.

I must admit that I love her sparkly sunglasses and flip flops.

I'm continuing to work on my photography to achieve a better representation of the coloring.  Molli does have more of a 'tan' in real life.

More Artichoke

I was doing a little blog hopping and I came across this great site offering a fun color challenge.  This color challenge goes right along with the beginning of fall and its colors.

Having a sister that sells Stampin' UP.  I was very familiar with

Hiding In My Craftroom

This site fits me so well because I feel there's no better place to be and I spend quite a bit of time hiding, funny thing is that's the first place anyone would look for me.

I used a stamp from Northwoods and colored with Copic Markers.

I now have a start on my fall cards and ready for a little cooler weather.

I've chosen another Northwoods stamp to share on this card.  I colored it with my Copic Markers and I must admit the pile just kept growing.  There are 26 colors on the card which includes the background airbrushing. I used the Curved Rectangles Spellbinders die for the image and for the fence I pulled out one of my old Sizzix dies.  The fence was cut from Real Cherry Wood paper by Creative Imaginations.  Using some Distress Ink, I colored the leaves of some paper flowers and glued a resin flower in the middle.  The sentiment  and ribbon is from Stampin' UP!

I think this little image from Stamping Bella is just adorable.  I gave her some bright red hair that I feel fits her personality.  I also used one of my new favorite Spellbinders dies which is Wonky Rectangles.
