This week at Inky Antics

It's time for another of my Guest Designer post over at Inky Antics
The set that is being featured is this great little Owl set.  I am in love with Owls right now so when I had an opportunity to work with these guys I was very excited.

10974SC Owl Family Clear Set
.
I have these googly eyes in my stash that I thought would look so cute on this owl, they have these fun eye lashes and eye shadow, so I planned my card totally around them.
I featured a window card, using a Spellbinders die that would frame my image.
Hopefully this card give you a big smile. Please visit the Inky Antics site and leave me a comment.
Thanks for stopping by.

Today at Inky Antics - "Try It Different" Tuesday: Snowball Penguin

Try it Tuesday at Inky Antics features another one of my Guest Designer cards.
This card uses the HoneyPop collections that I have grown to love.

The set that I used is 11195MC Snowball Penguin HoneyPOP Clear Set(drawn by artist Tammy DeYoung),
Don't these guys just make you laugh?  Almost makes you want to go out and play in the snow???? I have the snow here in Iowa, but I think the temperature with the windchill (-3) I will be convinced to stay inside with my warm coffee.

I used Heidi Swapp Color Magic resist paper and made my own custom colored paper by spraying it with Heidi Swapp Tropicana Teal, as you can see in the hexagon-shaped borders of the background pattern, which is beneath the penguin (popped up with foam tape and adorned with glitter and fuzzy pom poms):

Here's a close up of the front focal image.

All the images (on the outside and inside) were colored with Copic markers (Y15, Y17, Y19, BG000, BG53, BG57, T4, T5, and T7), and then I fussy cut them out.

I did some recycling of my lightweight packing foam to create the snow and some of the snowflakes. I adhered the lightweight foam to a piece of silver paper, and embossed it with a snowflake design (using a Tim Holtz Alterations Embossing Folder in Snow Flakes.) Then I cut the paper to make the snow drifts. The finishing touches are a few snowflakes and bling."

I had a great time making this card and I'm so excited to share it with you in addition to it being feature at Inky Antics.
These cards are great and make a BIG impression when the recipient opens to find the pop-up surprise.
Give them a try!
Thanks for stopping and stay Warm.

My Second Guest Designer Post At Inky Antics

So it's time for another feature at Inky Antics
I believe I explained last week how hard it was for me to decide and pick the stamp sets to use for my projects.  With it being December I knew I wanted to use some standard Christmas themes and this week Jackie has chosen my Vintage Bells card.
I wanted to really show off the bells and not clutter the card, so I placed the simple bell image in the center with the addition of the holly in the bottom corner. I love the standard green and red colors which works so well with another favorite of mine, Square Card!!
The bow at the top was cut out of felt using my new favorite bow die from Amuse Studio.  I used and embossing folder to add texture to the felt.
I hope you enjoy this card and will stop over at the Inky Antics site to leave a comment.

For today's project, I used 11205MC Vintage Bells Christmas Set (drawn by artist Trudy Sjolander):

My BIG News!!!!

Ok, so I hinted last week that I had some exciting news to share.

I was blessed when asked to be the Guest Designer at Inky Antics for the month of December.  This was a total surprise and I've had so much fun putting my projects together. I love their stamps so needless to say I was jumping up and down when I received the invitation.
Inky Antics has many different types of stamps and such a variety of products.  During the month of December I will have projects featured from different themes that show various styles.
This week, for my first post I want to share a card made with the stamp set,
Born In Bethlehem

11208MC, Born In Bethlehem Clear Set

There were so many ways to make a card out of this stamp set, but when I saw this paper I knew exactly what I wanted to do.
Please visit the Inky Antics blog and see all the details on my card and be sure to leave a comment at the end of the post, and you'll be entered in a BLOG CANDY giveaway.

Thanks for stopping today and allowing me to share my news.  Please don't forget to visit the Inky Antics site the entire month.

Happy Fall from the HoneyPop Squirrel

Well I told you the other day that I've been working with my many HoneyPop stamps to see if I could find different ways to use them.
Well I pulled out this fun Squirrel set and started playing.

So this is the front of the card.  I decided to make the Honey Comb Acorn the center of the card.  Adding a few fun layers of scrap to the base.  I stamped all the images from the set and stamped several extra small acorns.  I took the opportunity to use several of my favorite Amuse' Studio papers and the large banner thats been in my stash for a few weeks.
I rarely do anything to the inside of my cards, as I like to keep them clean and simple.  Well, this time I had several images left after I stamped and colored them all, so I added them to the inside.

I love this little squirrel.  He would normally holding the Honey Comb acorn, but he works just fine holding the other one I colored.
I hope you like my take on this project.
Have a great Sunday.

Pie Anyone???

Ok, so I must say that I had a great time making this card.  I have a drawer of Inky Antic HoneyPop stamps.  I used to teach a class at my local scrapbook store until it closed.  I used these stamps all the time for the HoneyPop classes and also for some basic Copic Marker instruction.
I have been trying to find various ways to use these products other than a normal card, so today I have a step card to offer.

Now since there's a pie on my card, I have a card recipe for you today
