The Joy of Grandson's

So my Grandson Jasper, is finishing up his year at preschool.  We never know what will come out of his mouth and recently during his school programs he has been known to steal the show.
This picture is before his Christmas program where at the end of his performance and before he left the stage he yells out......

"hey mom, how'd I do???"

Got to Love him!

Tomorrow he has a graduation program so I made this card.  I love the MFT lip balm pouches and have seen many cards with money in the pouch.
This is perfect for my congratulations to this crazy boy.
Stay tuned for my next post to see all the exciting details.

Jasper also turns '5' this week so many more celebrations to follow.

Have a great day.

AECP - In The Mood For Color

The assignment for this lesson has to do with color and mood.  My background is in Interior Design and color has become a way of life for me.  When my sister and I need to speak about color we reference Copic Marker numbers and colors.
I'm sure some of you totally understand.

Most of my recent post have been with aqua blue tones
but the next favorite color on my list is
Orange
Orange is also special for me as it means Health, Happiness and Courage.
Ten years ago this month I started 6 weeks of cancer treatments, so 2018 is a milestone in my health.
With pleasure I share my project using Orange.

Using mask and my Misti, these Pansies were stamped with yellows and orange.

Starting with a white paper panel I used an ink blending tool to add Sea Breeze at the top.

I decided that I wanted to do a little fussy cutting around my floral arrangement so I made a straight cut side-to-side about 2 inches from the bottom.

I layered this and my blue inked panel to the card base, then stamped and embossed a sentiment on black.  For finishing touches I chose black gems, blue sequins and Clear Wink of Stella.

Here's to Health, Happiness and Courage.

Blessings,

Nancy

MFT Die-Namics Collage Cover-up

Having a little fun today.

Needing to clean my craft room and put a few things away, I decided to make a card with my new MFT die.  I did see an inspiration video during the MFT release and I wanted to CASE the shaker card.

This was a fun card to make and I hope you will give it a try.

Have a Great weekend.

Blessings,

Nancy

Altenew Season Scene Building

I start my project today thinking about how I wanted to interpret this challenge.
First I need some inspiration, so I turn to my stamp collection from Altenew.
I find a couple of stamp sets that spark my interest and set them aside.
I'm also watching the clock this morning because I need to pack up for the class I'm teaching today at my local scrapbook store.
My clock is silver, black and white, very simple with clean lines and a modern look.
Voila` I have my inspiration.  Now to make my final selection of stamp set.

I decided this set was perfect

With a monochromatic color palette selected, the challenge of scene building starts out with masking paper and gray inks.

placed all stamps in Misti

Images cut out for masking

I placed all my stamps in my Misti and stamp them on masking paper.  Then I needed to cut them out.  I don't have the die set for this stamp set but I wouldn't want the white edge around them anyway, so I did pick up the scissors and started fussy cutting.

I started by stamping 2 images with the lightest gray ink

Now I need to cover the stamped images with their mask

Choosing a couple of more stamps from the set, they're placed and inked with additional colors. Mask are removed to see the results.

Now I put the mask back over the floral images in preparation of stamping the floral stems

So here's the final layout after stamping the stems and you can see I added one additional flower to the right of the stem. (kinda looks like and olive?)

I finished off my card with a simple background paper, a sentiment and a few sequins.
I love this card and the simplicity.

Thanks for stopping and sharing this exciting journey.

Blessings

Nancy

All About Layering 1 with Altenew

I recently was accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program and I'm so excited to start this journey.
Today I want to share my card that I designed for the All About Layering 1 class.
This class is available in the Altenew Academy at no charge.  Check it out.

I choose a very basic one layer card with a very simple design.
Sometimes I think we forget that a simple design and color palette can have a HUGE impact.

Aqua/Teal colors are my favorite so that was the inspiration for the card.

Clear Wink of Stella and a few sequins add that little extra to make this card special but still a simple one layer card.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me on this new journey.

Have a Blessed Day

Nancy
