Mega Succulents

Playing a little with the Altenew Mega Succulent Stamp, I decided to pick a few Zig Clean Color markers and color this image.

I stamped the image on watercolor paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Using purples and greens I colored with my Zig markers.
I wanted the image to be the focal point of my card, so I used the MFT Stitched Mod Rectangle Die to make the front panel.

Not wanting to cover the image I selected vellum for my sentiment panel.
The 'Dream Big" can be found in the Altenew More Than Words set.

Two more Graduation Cards

Finished 2 more graduation cards for the weekend.  Very basic and I just used a few special school papers and extra stickers that I keep for this time of year.
The first card is for a girl and I kept it simple since I really had no school colors or theme. Using generic graduation stickers and then gold Stickles on the stars for a little bling.  Interesting when I arrived at the party the colors were blue and gold, so this worked out well.

This next card is for our pastors son and he's runs track/cross country, so this '2018' die cut with a letterman sport look was perfect. I added a small strip of paper that has his high school name and then accented with school colors.

I have 2 more cards to make for next weekend, so I'll let you know how they turn out.

Hope you had a great weekend and Memorial Day!

I'm Obsessed with this Techniuque

For the past couple of months I've been obsessed with stamping images on my cards to create a background.  I select florals, leaves and even sentiments.  Using a very light color of ink or even the second generation stamping method, i stamp the image all over the card front panel.

Here's a short video to show my process.

I received my personalized stamp set from Altenew that celebrates their 4th anniversary gift to customers, so I used that and other Altenew products for this project.

The Joy of Grandson's

So my Grandson Jasper, is finishing up his year at preschool.  We never know what will come out of his mouth and recently during his school programs he has been known to steal the show.
This picture is before his Christmas program where at the end of his performance and before he left the stage he yells out......

"hey mom, how'd I do???"

Got to Love him!

Tomorrow he has a graduation program so I made this card.  I love the MFT lip balm pouches and have seen many cards with money in the pouch.
This is perfect for my congratulations to this crazy boy.
Stay tuned for my next post to see all the exciting details.

Jasper also turns '5' this week so many more celebrations to follow.

Have a great day.

Happy Birthday

I want to share a simple, quick and fun birthday card that I made for my husband.  I always love these air dancers or tall blow-up men and so I decided to try this stamp set out.
It's the Congrats set from Altenew
Congrats
I pulled some papers from my stash and colored a couple of these guys up with   Copic Markers.

Using the Altenew Birthday Builder set for my sentiment that basically finished the card.
Now if I could just figure out a good way to make these guys move, that would be the best.

Have a Great Day

Play Time With New Stamps

Very seldom do I just get to play around with new stamp sets, but today I decided to fit some time in between the several graduation cards I need to finish.

Starting with the Altenew Happy Heart bundle, I stamped the flowers in two ink colors.

On the left I used Memento Desert Sand ink and on the right I selected Memento Tuxedo Black.
You can see how different the flowers look.
I colored with Copic Markers and used a few added details to put together these two cards.
My challenge to you is, pick a stamp set and color the images in two totally different ways.

For this next layering set I started with some extra items from past projects and thats what dictated my color choices.  Having the dark green 'thinking of you' die-cut, I decided to use yellow, purple and green.  The background is the pegboard cover die which is becoming a favorite of mine.

Thanks for stopping by today and hopefully I have inspired and sparked your interest with the new Altenew products.

I'm In Love

In My Thoughts

So I must admit that when this stamp set from Altenew came out I hesitated to pick it up.  I wanted everything in the new release and was trying to be selective.  Well....I have to say this set will be one of my favorites.  It is so easy to layer and makes a gorgeous 'one layer' card, but as you can see I couldn't stop myself and used foam tape.

This past week the flowering tree's have started to bloom here in Iowa and they are gorgeous pinks and whites.  Using Altenew Espresso ink for the trunk and then I layered Mango Smoothie, Peach Perfect and Cotton Candy for the foliage.  I love how the layering of the lighter ink has enhanced the lines in the tree trunk.
I used the coordinating die to cut out the image.  Wanting to create something similar to the eclipse effect, I used some glitter paper behind the image and then shifted the tree just a little to the right.
I used foam tape to lift the image slightly.
In My Thoughts Die
The finishing touch was Nuvo Drops in Orange Soda.

Thanks for stopping by today.

It's A Special Day

For those of you that have been following my journey through the Altenew Certification Process
I can finally report that I have completed all my assignments and I have received my
Educator Certification
This has been not only a learning process but a refresher/reminder course for the basics since I've been crafting so long.  Altenew has so many fabulous stamp and die sets and I love the layering florals.  I also believe they have a very unique variety of special dies.

In honor of Altenew, I finally had an opportunity to play a little with my new stamps from the last release.  Picking the 'Just for You' set, here's a quick card that I put together.
I used the Warm & Cozy and Green Meadows inks, plus a few scrap papers from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today, I've got to get back to playing with my new Altenew Stamps.
