Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop + Giveaway

I'm very excited to share a card with you today that I made for a fabulous cause.

Altenew's goal is to send cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they are not forgotten.  We would love for you to check out the Celebrating Parents Card Drive and then join this great cause by sending in cards.

Here is the card that I will be sending to Altenew and hopefully it gives you some inspiration.

I started by inking my card front using Altenew Crisp Dye Ink - Aqualicious.  Needing a little more interest on the background I pulled out my Jet Black Ink Sprays and added a few sprays.
If you know anything about me, I LOVE Altenew cover dies, so this card is using

I stamped several images from the Dotted Blooms set using Altenew Permanent Black Ink.  This is a layering set but I decided to add color by using several ink pads to achieve a watercolor effect.
Colors used on the flowers, Altenew Fresh Lemon, Cotton Candy, Peach Perfect.
My sentiment was selected from the Build-A-Flower: Cattleya set.

Altenew Wallpaper Art Florals

So today I have a card to share from extra images left over from my card yesterday.
Once again the same colors, which are my favorites right now.

Using a basic black and white floral image with a splash of color on the leaves.
First I inked up a background using Altenew Aqualicious Ink and then I spritzed the background with Altenew Jet Black Ink Spray.

I wanted to add a small accent strip of paper on the left side, so I used black paper.  Also wanting to add a little texture to that paper, I added lines by using my score board.
So simple and easy!
My leaves were colored with Altenew Artist Markers.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Lately I have become obsessed with the Altenew Wallpaper Art Stamp & Die set.  I love adding the floral images in black and white on a colorized background.  Altenew Permanent Black Ink is perfect for this technique.

I selected the Altenew Sunburst Stencil and dry embossed it by running it through my Big Shot.  Not wanting this background layer to be white I inked over the texture with Altenew Limeade and Altenew Iceberg inks.

Next I wanted a silver border layer, so I decided to make my own.  Selecting a piece of paper trimmed to size, I inked the edges with my Altenew Embossing Ink pad.  Then I applied Altenew Antique Silver Embossing powder over the wet ink, heat embossed and I'm done.

I finished up my card with the simple 'Smile' sentiment from the

So lets keep this blog hop going, you should have arrived here from The Hedgehog Hollow, but if not please go back and check out what Alexandra has to share.

This Sweet Violet set is very easy to layer and has a very delicate look.

    Layering Guide

Sweet Violet Build-A-Flower bundle comes with the inks included which is a great way to build your ink collection along with taking the guess work out of the color selection.

I have a few examples to share with you today using three color ways.

This first example I used the Feathered Leaves Stencil and inked my background using Frayed Leaf Ink. I also inked a small section on the card front using Morning Frost over the Feathered Leaves Stencil.  This is a simple shaker card and I wanted a subtle texture to be seen through the acetate window.
Deep Blue Seas, Summer Afternoon and Green Fields ink were used for the flowers and leaves.

For my next example I used the Beveled Squares Stencil and did the dry embossed technique by running it through my Big Shot.   I love this subtle texture for a background.  I stamped the flowers using the Enchanted Garden and Summer Afternoon inks and the leaves were stamped using
    Tropical Forrest inks.
The sentiment is stamped with Jet Black ink on paper from the
    Reflection Paper Pack

My last card features the violets using Tea Party and Summer Afternoon inks with leaves in Green Meadows ink.
I started out with the Rustic Linen background stamp using Morning Frost ink.
My sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with
    Altenew Pure White Crisp Powder.
