Holiday Seals

The last couple of cards I have to share for this week are the result of me just getting to play.  I have fallen in love with blending brushes.
I pulled the Altenew Linear Stencil out and had some fun.
I continued my theme of using black, then added grays and blues on the first card.
I wanted the stencil to be the focus of the card so I selected the
Holiday Seals set by The Stamping Village for my center.
I added a little bling and gold paper for finishing touches.

My second card uses the same supplies, I just change the colors to Red.

Thanks for spending the week with me.

Altenew Modern Holiday Cardmaking 6 - Final Day

Today is the final day for my Altenew Academy Class.

Today's focus is on Cover Plates and I'm sharing another inspiration card here on my blog.

Sticking with my black modern theme this card is simple and easy.

I used the Altenew Pegboard Canvas Cover Die for the background and mount it on a black top fold A-2 cardbase.  You can see how the black dots show through the holes to stick with my theme.
Then I cut several pieces from the Altenew Creative Edges: Evergreen Die
1 - Black
1- Gold
2 - Forest Glades
I inked the edges of the green paper with Altenew Forest Glades and Evergreen inks, then I layered the green, gold and black trees as shown.
The 3 stars are from Altenew Starry Night set and the sentiment is from Altenew Happy Holidays.

It's been so much fun sharing all my inspiration here on my blog for this class series.  I hope you have enjoyed the projects.

Thanks for stopping by.

Washi - Washi - Washi

Today is actually Day 5 of my Altenew Modern Holiday Card Class at the Altenew Academy.

I feature Washi Tape on this class, so I have a few inspiration projects to share here on my blog.
My first card features Altenew Golden Dots and Gilded Ombre

I covered a black panel with the Golden Dots washi then I placed the Gilded Ombre over the dots at the bottom of the panel.
You wouldn't have to cover the entire panel with the dots if you want to save washi.
I do love the fact that you can see the dots peaking through the top layer of washi.

My sentiment is Mini Christmas from Altenew

Stamping with clear embossing ink and embossing with Altenew Antique Gold powder. I die cut the sentiment with a circle die and layered it with a gold circle accent. The card was finished off with branches and gems.

My second card features Altenew Deco Lines and Gilded Greenery Washi Tape

The sentiment is from Altenew Festive Poinsettia

I hope you enjoyed this extra inspiration using Washi Tape.

Altenew Diamond Snowflakes Stencil

Recently I've featured blog post and videos using dies in a different way, how to incorporate black into your projects to add depth and a 'modern' new look and then adding unique cuts and shapes to your cardmaking.

Altenew recently had a great stencil release and the Diamond Snowflakes was part of that release.

 Altenew Stencil Diamond Snowflakes Stencil

I created two cards with this stencil, selecting different color palettes.
Inking the background using a gradient process of light to dark inks.  I then cut the panel diagonally and trimmed it down to show a small black border from the cardbase.

This card design would be so easy to mass produce choosing different colorways and changing the sentiments.

(I have a video below, please be patient with me during my transition with a new set-up)

Thanks again for stopping by and I hope you have a great day.

Altenew Modern Holiday Cardmaking - Day 3

So it's day 3 and we are half way through the Modern Holiday Classes.

Today I want to share a card that is holiday inspired, but I focused more on the New Year theme.

Sticking with using 'black' as an accent for this series, this card almost has a tropical look

I used Altenew Happy Dreams Stamp and Die Set

Sorry there's no video today but here's a short instruction list

I stamped my bubble background using Altenew Morning Frost Ink.

Then I stamped the feathers and garland type branch.
I used Altenew Evening Gray and tipped the edge of the stamp with Altenew Coral Bliss.  I love the 2 tone effect I achieved with these colors.  The branches were stamped using Altenew Bamboo and Parrot ink.
The sentiment was stamped with Permanent Black ink and framed with a silver and black border.
Once again this in mounted on a top fold black A-2 card base and I added sequins accents.

Thanks for stopping by again today.

Modern Holiday Cardmaking - Day 2

So keeping with my theme of non-traditional holiday colors on cards, today I'm focusing on greens with black accents.
I selected one of the new stencils from Altenew.

Leaves & Berries

I used blending brushes and Altenew inks with the stencil to build the layers.

It's Day One of Modern Holiday Cardmaking in the Altenew Academy

Today my class is up and running in the Altenew Academy.
I hope you have taken the opportunity to sign up for the class and will share your projects in the forum.

I wanted to share a little more inspiration here on my blog, so today I have a couple of cards that use the new Delicate Tiles stamp set

 Delicate Tiles

This first card follows along with a holiday theme, I selected traditional Christmas colors of red and green.  I added a vellum sentiment overlay using Altenew Lyrical Script stamp set.

These are fun to stamp and became addicting so I decided to make a few more tiles to create my next card.
Selecting the Altenew Rock Collection Inks I made about 10 tiles.
My project resulted in a very non-traditional holiday card.
It's a 4.5 X 4.5 square and I use 5 of the tiles that were stamped.
I placed a fun sentiment strip at the bottom for the finishing touch.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you can participate in my Altenew Class.

I'm BACK

So after being gone for several months I'm happy to say I'm BACK!

Over the summer I had to have some eye surgery which puts a small hindrance on crafting and creating.  Then we had the chance to sell our house, (which is a good thing as we wanted to downsize) so that resulted in packing up my studio for about 90 days.
Well we are finally settled and my new studio is completed.

I have several events on the calendar for the next few months including local classes and a video series with Altenew.

Please go to the Altenew Academy and sign up for the class.
I've included the discount code below for 20% OFF .
Early Bird Code: AAOCTMHC20OFF (Valid till 10/21/2019 and cannot be combined with another promo/discount codes)

Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope to see you in the Altenew Academy Classroom next week.
