AECP - With a Twist

Have you ever started a project where you feel like you are flying by the seat of your pants?
Well, today I want to share my 'With a Twist' card that I designed for my Altenew certification.

My head was filled with many ideas after watching all the class video's, so I started playing with different options.  Shakers, Embossing, Unusual Cuts and Mixed Styles were some of the focuses during the classes and I really thought I would do a fun Shaker card.

I picked the Lace Up set and decided to stamp it on vellum with white ink and white embossing powder.  I decided to use my Altenew Artist Markers to color selected areas on the stamped image.  You need to color on the back of the vellum which will achieve a stained glass type of effect.

This is the backside of my colored image, you can see that the colors are much more vibrant.

After looking at the finished vellum accent I changed my plan for the shaker card.

I decided to frame the image with a purple panel, so now I needed to figure out the best way to do this,(since there is no die for this).  I stamped the image onto the purple paper and then fussy cut the hole in the panel.  Needing some pattern on the front, I used Versamark ink and stamped the image randomly on the paper.  I also used a clear embossing powder adding a little sheen.
A white pen added the stitched effect around the opening.

I colored another small piece of vellum with the Crimson marker and then stamped the sentiment.

I hope that I have offered you encouragement to look at stamps in an 'out-of-the-box' manner and not  be afraid to take your project in a different direction than you had planned.

Have a Great Day!

Blessings,

Nancy
