AECP - Tis The Season

I know it's not Christmas but I have a card to share from the
Altenew Academy Class
Tis The Season

Working through the classes I decided to focus my project on the
Rustic Holiday Theme.

Not having but two Altenew holiday stamp sets in my collection,
I decided to use the Wood Pallet Stamp for a background to pull the rustic look together.
I started my process by using 5 different stamp colors to achieve the wood pallet background. I then stamped the pine leaves in the lover right corner to create a cluster to lay under the pine cones.

Stamping the pine cones (Poinsettia & Pine stamp set) on a beige paper I used Altenew Artist Markers to color them as realistic as possible.

Not having the dies for my stamp sets, I used my Brother Scan-n-cut for the pine cones and the word sentiments. The sentiment came out of the Majestic Mistletoe set, which was stamped on red card stock using Espresso ink.
The small 'and' word was pulled from another stamp set since that's the size I needed.

Finished the card off with a red gem to dot the 'i' and added Nuvo White Blizzard over the pines leaves.

AECP- Color Your Day

Today I want to share a post that was Inspired by Color.
Looking at color I always reflect back to the three primary colors of
Red, Yellow and Blue.

Having a color wheel for reference is a must for me.  It's a quick reference for color ideas and making a plan.  So it should come as no surprise that I have chosen The Color Wheel and Primary Colors as my inspiration.

I knew that I want to keep my card simple, but I also wanted to feature the three colors.
I started by stamping the images from Altenew Painted Butterflies
Stamping the butterflies using Altenew Rouge, Crimson, Citrus, Maple, Caribbean Sky, Persian Blue
I have a fabulous 6 X 6 paper pad from Ken Oliver that looks just like you made the background using Colorburst.  I decided that it would be the perfect backdrop, but first I needed to cut a panel using Altenew Layered Plaid Cover Die A.

I layered the butterflies using pop-dots, added a little Clear Wink of Stella and a pretty black gem.
The sentiment is also from the Painted Butterflies set.

Once again, Thanks for visiting my blog.

Blessings,

Nancy

AECP - In The Mood For Color

The assignment for this lesson has to do with color and mood.  My background is in Interior Design and color has become a way of life for me.  When my sister and I need to speak about color we reference Copic Marker numbers and colors.
I'm sure some of you totally understand.

Most of my recent post have been with aqua blue tones
but the next favorite color on my list is
Orange
Orange is also special for me as it means Health, Happiness and Courage.
Ten years ago this month I started 6 weeks of cancer treatments, so 2018 is a milestone in my health.
With pleasure I share my project using Orange.

Using mask and my Misti, these Pansies were stamped with yellows and orange.

Starting with a white paper panel I used an ink blending tool to add Sea Breeze at the top.

I decided that I wanted to do a little fussy cutting around my floral arrangement so I made a straight cut side-to-side about 2 inches from the bottom.

I layered this and my blue inked panel to the card base, then stamped and embossed a sentiment on black.  For finishing touches I chose black gems, blue sequins and Clear Wink of Stella.

Here's to Health, Happiness and Courage.

Blessings,

Nancy

All About Layering 1 with Altenew

I recently was accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program and I'm so excited to start this journey.
Today I want to share my card that I designed for the All About Layering 1 class.
This class is available in the Altenew Academy at no charge.  Check it out.

I choose a very basic one layer card with a very simple design.
Sometimes I think we forget that a simple design and color palette can have a HUGE impact.

Aqua/Teal colors are my favorite so that was the inspiration for the card.

Clear Wink of Stella and a few sequins add that little extra to make this card special but still a simple one layer card.

Thanks for stopping by and joining me on this new journey.

Have a Blessed Day

Nancy

Elf'n around

Have you ever lost a digital image in your computer?  I feel almost certain it should be there, but I just can't find it.  I know it will show up after the project has been completed and its not  needed anymore.  So while I was looking at every image, and I mean every image stored on my PC, I came across these cute little Elf images. I hadn't planned on coloring them all today, but since all those red and green markers were laying on my desk, I just kept going.  I had alot of fun and also got to practice on coloring those reds.
So here's what I did today...

Using Copic Markers, Wink of Stella and a little flower soft on the Elf's hat

Front of card using a circle window to get a sneak peek at the Elf inside

Fun Elf on the inside

This little elf is so cute with his holiday garland.

Thanks for stopping by today.
